“ So we bought a 2019 Toyota highlander in January, broke down 3 weeks later but then the car started back up and ran fine so we took it up to have them scan it for whatever issue would call the engine to just randomly die, they hooked it up and couldn't find any code whatsoever so I left and drove it for another week to find it was burning oil really bad so we took it up again to be told by the mechanic the motor was bad and needed replaced. They had it there for a few weeks and we barely heard a word about it so we started calling about it then finally they told us the motor was fine and it wasn't burning any oil for them the whole time but they would buy the car back from us if we didn't feel comfortable taking it. So that's what we did but instead of deducting the warranty we were pushed into buying from it we ended up paying $1100 to them for them to buy this car back from us because of the warranty and taxes or whatever. To be charged that much money for them to buy our car back was outrageous and we felt like we had to jump through hoops to get ahold of them and we never felt like they did anything right by us at all, not very good customer service. Also I want to add that I asked during the test drive if it had any known problems and was told no but then we find out they never looked at the service records before selling it and they later found it had went 30k miles with no oil change on record hense the bad motor but we were told afterwards the motor was fine and it broke down for no reason. They also had the car for a whole month before we finally we able to seal the deal and sell it back to them. I felt like we should have not been charged $1100 to them for them to buy it back. So not very happy at all with our experience and we would never be back after having to jump through hoops for them. ”
“ For several years I had regularly relied on the service department and was genuinely pleased with their work. However, things took a disappointing turn when I had the organization replace all four shocks on my Tacoma. Initially, I think much of it, until I noticed a strange noise coming from one of the rear shocks. Curious, I decided to investigate and inspect the shocks and struts myself. What I discovered was shocking, the parts department had replaced my OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) shocks with some of the cheapest aftermarket parts they could find. While this alone would have been frustrating, what truly upset me was the pricing. Upon reviewing my invoice, I found I’d been charged over $250 for the rear shocks and over $300 for the front, even though I could have bought a full set of four high-quality shocks for less than $300 elsewhere. To make matters worse, the invoice lacked any itemized details, such as the manufacturer or specific part names, something that felt intentionally vague. In hindsight, I recognize that I should have been more proactive by specifying the type of parts I wanted and reviewing the costs before agreeing to the service. That said, it was my fault for trusting a dealership, we live in a world where ethics and morals are scarce but understand commission can make employees prioritize profits over ethics and transparency. I suppose that was my mistake, expecting moral and ethical behavior. To their credit, when I raised the issue and provided printouts showing the overcharge, the parts manager reached out and acted as though they wanted to resolve the issue. As a result, I have decided never to use their services again. Thi is unfortunate, as I genuinely liked the service department staff and had been a loyal customer for years. In fact, when it came time to buy a new vehicle, I drove an hour to a different dealership to buy my new Tundra. After all, no amount of convenience or familiarity can substitute for honesty and ethics ”
